MEET BANGKOK’S MOST EVIDENT MMA TEAM
Established in Bangkok on April 3rd 2017, YORKY Mixed Martial Arts Team quickly grew to be notorious for their aggressive, no nonsense & honest reputation in the public eye. Founded by former ONE Championship Professional fighter Nicholas “JJ” Lee who quickly established himself as a legitimate coach by leading his athletes to stacking up wins in Mixed Martial Arts & Boxing.
The team has accomplished an impressive resume less than a year into it’s foundation. Noticeably recently signed ONE Championship Fighter Rockie Bactol , rising star Krittamet Thurakitwong & Dogfight’s Boxing & MMA Promotor Oliver Fennell.
Coach Nicholas is known for his straight – forward as real as it gets honesty when it comes down to Martial Arts training. Known for being a pretty intense and aggressive person by nature, he takes pride and puts in passion into his team of athletes.
When asked about if his business decisions concerns him, Nicholas said : “I was trained and taught the most traditional martial way… be honest, true and real to yourself. I am not saying I will do my best to be rude to you but It’ll be obvious if I like you or not! At the end of the day, my %100 focus and passion is in my students“.
We also asked about how the establishment of the club came by.
Nicholas: “At the time my wife was 8 months pregnant and we were still working for a gym in On Nut. They one day announced that it’ll shut down permanently and we had a small group of students that was very loyal to me, we decided to put some money in together to obtain a place to train, however we were forced to move out. Not long after me and my wife decided to use our savings we had that was suppose to be for the child birth to open up the club“.
Whilst Yorky is no longer a Martial Arts school, in 2021 the group is a very efficient HUB of fighter friends who train together like brothers and gathering incredible results in local and international competitions.
